The British Council in the use of
Microsoft Access and then helped them develop a whole host of end-user
databases.
- 1994 - Completely re-designed a debt collection management system for a company in Woking.
The system allowed the company to grow several fold.
- 2004 - Wrote a post-graduate thesis management system for
Curtin University. Converted a set Excel
Spreadsheets used to manage post graduate students' thesis examinations into a
bespoke application to automate the process, driven by the chief user.
- 2005 - Built an iron ore cost forecasting system for
Rio Tinto.
- 2006 - Built a cost management system for the
Forest Products Commission. Imported the
original data from Excel and designed a bespoke application driven by the chief
user.
- 2008 - Staff Placement and Equipment Database for BankWest.
Converted a series of Excel spreadsheets recording PC network ports of staff
into an Access Database that helps manage staff (especially temporary staff)
locations.
- 2010 - Built a database engine for Adoption
Jigsaw to help staff manange their attempts to help people track their lost
relatives.
- 2009-2010 Employee Competency System for
Fortescue Mining Group
Initially designed as a Microsoft Access 2003
database. Generates Competency matrices in Excel. Now upsized to SQL Server 2005
with an Access 2007 client.
